WOW, so that is a lot to unpack and I had no clue that this was coming.

So let's talk about people's initial reactions..

So far it seems to be mixed but by far mostly positive from what I've seen. Many people are very excited about the potential of these two Print on Demand giants coming together, and I am too.

I get asked all the time which Print on Demand company should I go with, and the two that most people are considering are Printify and Printful. If this merger goes well, it's going to be a very easy decision for most Print on Demand sellers.

I have however heard some concerns, mainly around ensuring product quality and consistency and keeping production costs low.

So here are my initial thoughts:

I'm excited and optimistic about the potential that this merger has to transform and accelerate both the Print on Demand industry and the creator economy as a whole.

These are my two favorite Print on Demand companies right now, but each has always had their own strengths and weaknesses. On one end, Printful is the go-to for their branding options, their consistent quality, and the On-Trend styles. On the flip side, Printify is amazing for their massive product selection, their low production costs, and their Innovation.

As long as their focus remains to empower sellers to unlock more freedom in their lives by making it as quick and easy as is possible for them to build profitable Print on Demand businesses, I'm really excited to see what 2025 and beyond hold for us.

This has the potential to be a total game changer and allow Print on Demand small businesses to compete with much bigger companies with much deeper pockets. And this is something that I've been seeing for a while, which is a narrowing of the gap between Print on Demand sellers and much larger online retailers and brick-and-mortar stores. If we can continue to narrow that gap, it's going to allow us small business owners to be much more competitive.

There are a few specific things that I expect though based on their statements..

First is that Printful and Printify will still be operating independently for the foreseeable future, meaning that the idea of having access to one mega Print On Demand provider is likely many years away. However, based on the "Best of both" statements, I wouldn't be surprised if Printful is soon listed as an option in Printify Partners, for you to start routing Printful orders through Printify.

Based on their statements about reach, I'm expecting an aggressive push by both to expand their geographical footprint of partner facilities to enable more local fulfillment capabilities, which should lower shipping costs and customs fees for customers.

Finally, the innovation statement makes me think that their are many more products in the pipeline, AND now they will be combining their resources (i.e. investment dollars) to speed this up. Skincare and Supplements were huge additions by Printify, but I'm betting on many more major industries being disrupted by Print on Demand in the near future. This means more opportunities for us and more options for our customers!

I think and hope that this is a step in the right direction, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Let me know whether you think this is a good idea or a bad idea and why. You can post in the comments on the YouTube video here or send me a DM here.
